New Delhi: It is not just the RSS or the VHP that want a Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Kinnar Akhara, the largest organisation of transgender people in India, on Monday declared that if it came to such a pass, they would spend the last drop of their blood for the construction of the temple.
Head of the Ujjain-based akhara, Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan, and the organisation’s spokesperson Anita Ma, said the Ram temple would certainly be constructed in Ayodhya even if they had to irrigate the haloed land with their blood.
“Governments have been taking the issue lightly and have just been milking it for political gain. They have become chief ministers and prime ministers in the name of a Ram temple, and yet they have never given a concrete answer in the matter,” Narayan said.
“Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya and therefore it is his janmabhoomi. Now, if a temple is not constructed there, where will it be done, in Kerala?” asked Narayan.
The Kinnar Akhara, along with other akharas or religious schools of Hinduism, will be participating in the 'kumbh’ in Allahabad this year. The akhara will host people from India and abroad to spread the message of Hinduism.
