Bengal: Nehru statue painted saffron in Asansol, BJP denies allegation (video)

People in Kulti, Asansol, burst into protest on Wednesday after they found that a statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was painted in saffron colour. Initially locals thought that it was work of the BJP, but the party leader Vivekanand Bhattacharya denied all such allegations.

Meanwhile, TMC MLA Ujjwal Chatterjee said that this kind of dirty politics should stop. He also warned people that with the election date coming near, this type of politics will increase.

The statue was again painted back to its original colour by the SAIL authority and a FIR was filed with the police.
