BSNL has begun an investigation on Rehana's infamous trek to Sabarimala temple. BSNL has further requested cyber cell to investigate into Rehana's instigating Facebook posts.
Kochi: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has taken action against Rehana Fathima, who created a storm by trying to forcibly enter the Sabarimala temple after the Supreme Court, in its verdict, allowed women of all ages to enter the shrine.
BSNL transferred Rehana Fathima to Ravipuram in Kochi. She is now posted in a department branch where she does not have to meet people directly. She was working as a telephone mechanic in Kochi's boat jetty branch before the transfer.
BSNL has begun an investigation on Rehana Fathima's trek to Sabarimala temple. The company has requested the cyber cell to investigate Rehana Fathima's Facebook posts that many have found to be offending society's sensibilities.
Rehana Fathima's Facebook page says, ‘Break the rules’. Her 'disrespectful' picture wearing the Ayyappa attire (black dhoti and black shirt), baring her thighs, earned the wrath of Hindu devotees as they felt 'humiliated'.

Rehana Fathima travelled to Sabarimala temple with Kavitha Jakkal, a Hyderabad-based journalist. A police team led by IG Sreejith had ensured tight security to these women. However, she could not enter the Sabarimala temple as several protesters blocked her at Nadappanthal near the temple.
The Kerala Police have registered a case against Rehana Fathima for hurting religious statements based on a complaint filed by a Thrukkodithanam, Kottayam native.
