Surendran got bail in connection with a conspiracy to kill a 52-year-old woman in Sabarimala. The court also advised him that he should not be involved in other similar offences later. Surendran submitted his passport to the court and also furnished a bond of Rs 2 lakh. Surendran was granted bail in all other cases too.

On December 6, the court had criticised Surendran. While the court questioned Surendran’s presence on the day of the protest in Sabarimala, the court stated that Surendran's actions cannot be justified and that he should not have done such things given the fact that he holds a respectable position. The HC had also asked him why he went to Sabarimala.

Meanwhile, the Kerala government representative told the court that Surendran tried to violate the law so he should not be granted bail. At the same time, the court asked the lawyer that there are many cases and warrants against the other ministers also.

Earlier, the Kerala high court questioned the state government about Surendran's judicial custody. The court asked for how many more days the government plans to keep him in custody. And the court also asked whether Surendran is the sole member of the party and pointed out that there are many cases against some of the other ministers as well. The court asked this while considering Surendran's bail plea.
