The head of the Christian body alleged further that these frauds went about meeting senior officials and ministers of the state as representatives of his organisation, 'duping people, showing pictures and collecting gifts, donations etc by promising them favours with the Jharkhand government'

Ranchi/New Delhi: A prominent Christian body in Jharkhand has alleged that its name was misused by six miscreants from the same community who went on masquerading as its members and spread anti-government propaganda. The “propaganda”, they said, included a press conference against BJP MP Rakesh Sinha and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The head of Rashtriya Isai Mahasangh (National Christian Federation), Anita Benjamin, wrote to Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das and lodged a complaint with director general of police (DGP) DK Pandey, claiming, “Some people in Jharkhand are trying to pretend and claim to be representatives and member of my organisation Rashtriya Isai Mahasangh, and deceiving the Christian community…”

Benjamin alleged further that these people had gone about meeting senior officials and ministers of the state as representatives of the organisation, “duping people showing pictures and collecting gifts, donations etc by promising them favours with the Jharkhand government”.

“They are also involved in anti-government and anti-social activities. Recently, they have burnt the effigy of Hon’ble member of Parliament Sh. Rakesh Sinha. Raised anti-government (Jharkhand and Central Govt) slogans, held press conference defaming Hon’ble MP Rakesh Sinha & Hon’ble Prime Minister, etc which is a very serious and heinous crime,” Benjamin said in the letter.

The organisation declared that its focus was to “mobilise the Christian community and other minorities all around to support the present government and to BJP party also”.
