Puducherry: Lieutenant governor of Puducherry, Kiran Bedi had fixed up a meeting with Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy to bury their differences, only to cancel it later, citing that there were some “conditions” imposed by the chief minister.

Narayanaswamy then staged a protest in front of Raj Nivas. Later, Kiran Bedi was seen cycling around the building in front of protesters.

Speaking to reporters, Narayanasamy said that their protest would continue till Kiran Bedi replies to his letter listing out 39 demands of the state government.

The lieutenant governor cancelled the meeting after the chief minister has stated conditions on where the meeting would take place and who should be present in the meeting. Bedi stated that the chief minister was protesting for political reasons.

Narayanasamy’s protest gained much support on Sunday, with DMK chief Stalin and VCK chief Thirumavalavan visiting the venue and extending their support. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Chandrababu Naidu and Mamata Banerjee too extended their support.
