After scripting BJP’s victories in 2012 Gujarat assembly polls and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he had had a falling out with BJP, Kishor is ready to come back to the saffron fold.
Pollster Prashant Kishor in all likelihood will join forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) for the upcoming 2019 general elections, said BJP sources. After scripting BJP’s massive victories in Gujarat assembly polls of 2012 and 2014 Lok Sabha elections, while he went on to help the opposite political camps in Bihar and UP, Kishor is ready to come back to the saffron fold.
While the party is keeping the development under wraps and party leaders maintained an ambiguous stance, sources in the BJP said that Kishor’s joining hands with the party is more or less final.
The poll strategist has met party president Amit Shah, sources added, but a final devolution of duties and work profile are yet to be thrashed out in a final shape. Shah and Kishor have had two rounds of meetings in the past couple of months and the third, and perhaps the final, is yet to happen as Kishor has not made the last knock on the BJP’s door.
In the last yet-to-be-slated meeting, sources said, the final contours would be fleshed out after a final presentation.
Kishor now heads a new organisation Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) conceptualised in 2015.
