In a big achievement, the police in Kashmir solved a terror attack case on Thursday. On 25 February this year, an attack was launched on the residence of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Faazal Haq Qureshi. In that attack, a policeman, Farooq Ahmed, succumbed to his injuries and his service rifle was snatched. The evidence collected during initial investigation revealed the role of local terrorist Isa Fazli.
It further revealed the role of terrorists Syed Owais Shafi, Tawseef Ahmad and their associates Umar Noor Bhat Zoji, Ubaid Zoji, Waseem aka Sofi and Adil Majid in the entire conspiracy and its execution. According to the sleuths probing the case, in the evening of 24 February 2018, a conspiracy was hatched in the house of Adil Majid, in which the terrorists planned to attack Qureshi.
In order to execute the conspiracy, Umar Noor Bhat took Isa Fazli, Syed Owais, Tawseef Ahmed in a car whereas Waseem moved on his motor bike ahead as a pilot to check for the presence of any security personnel between Chatabbal and Soura to alert the group the remained in constant touch with Fazli.
Another conspirator Ubaid Zoji waited near Qureshi's residence in a motor bike separately. Isa Fazli, Syed Owais and Tawseef Ahmad carried out the attack on Qureshi's guard and snatched the service rifle of constable Farooq. After carrying out the attack, they fled with Ubaid Zoji and Waseem on a motor bike.
Isa Fazli, Syed Owais and Tawseef Ahmad were killed in an operation at the Hakoora Badasgam area of Anantnag.
Following the incident, an FIR has been registered under Arms Act, 1959 and Unlawful Activities Act, 1967 and an investigation was launched.
