PM Modi to visit Kerala today; to lay foundation stone for petrochemical complex in Kochi

On January 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited Kerala's Kollam to inaugurate a bypass, and to speak at a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)

Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Kerala's Kochi and Thrissur on Sunday for a one-day visit. This visit to Kerala will be Prime Minister’s second visit in a month to the state.

According to reports, Modi is likely to reach Kochi Naval base at 1.55 pm and will go to Rajagiri College ground by helicopter. By road, Modi will travel to Bharat Petroleum Corporation's (BPCL) Kochi refinery, where the first event is scheduled to take place.

The PM will dedicate the Integrated Refinery Expansion Complex at BPCL. Later, Modi will lay the foundation stone for the petrochemical complex.

The reports also said the Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and governor P Sathasivam and other ministers would attend the event. The entry to the events is restricted, and guests who are invited with special passes can be part of the event.

Around 3:30 pm, Modi will leave for Thrissur in a helicopter and will land at Kuttanallur Government College's helipad at 4 pm.

At Thrissur, Modi will speak at the Yuva Morcha conference at the Thekkinkad ground. There are rallies and a public meeting as a part of the conference. He will later return to Kochi by 5 pm, from where he would head to Delhi.

On January 15, Modi had come to Kollam to inaugurate a bypass, and also to speak at a meeting of the NDA. That visit was seen as the beginning of BJP's Lok Sabha election campaign.

In his visit, Modi had slammed the state government and said that allowing women under the age of 50 into the Sabarimala shrine would go down in history as the most shameful act.
