The petitioner asked the apex court to “pass a notification making anti-national, anti-India, anti-armed forces, anti-martyrs and other derogatory comments against our country on social media a punishable offence.”

A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in Supreme Court on Monday asking the apex court to direct the Centre to make "anti-national, anti-India, anti-armed forces, anti-martyrs and other derogatory comments against our country on social media a punishable offence".

The petitioner asked the apex court to also institute an inquiry commission under a retired SC judge to probe several matters related to the Pulwama attack, including the role of locals and demanding a freeze on the bank accounts of Hurriyat and its leaders.

“Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction directing Central Government to constitute a commission headed by a retired Hon’ble Supreme Court Judge along with army, intelligence and local administration to conduct an enquiry in the Uri and Pulwama attack and find out the lapses at local level and also conduct an enquiry regarding the role played by Indian Nationals in helping the terrorists from Pakistan in executing the Uri and Pulwama attack,” the PIL filed by advocate JP Dhanda said.

Dhanda also demanded that the apex court ask the Centre to file an action taken report on measures taken against the Hurriyat Conference and its leaders. Dhanda also demanded that the court ban the political outfit and its leaders from contesting Lok Sabha as well as assembly elections.

The PIL also asked the court to direct the Centre to take “stern legal actions against those locals in the State of Jammu and Kashmir who attack the armed forces in any form”.

Apart from asking the court to monitor that the money collected for the martyrs’ families reached them, Dhanda also demanded that the Centre impose a “ban on all the cultural ties with Pakistan and ban its artists, actors, musicians and players from entering and performing in India”.
