Pejawara seer escapes accident by a whisker; elderly couple die after ramming escort vehicle

Bengaluru Rural: Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji of the Pejawara Mutt was saved from a fatal accident, when a car hit a police escort vehicle, resulting in the death of two elderly people.

The incident occurred at Karappanahalli on Chintamani-Hosakote Road when the Pejawara seer was on his way to Chikkaballapur to attend a function. A car with two elderly people - Ramakrishna, 65, and his wife Sulochana, 55, tried to overtake another vehicle and rammed the escort vehicle of Pejawara seer. The couple was killed on the spot, and the vehicle was completely damaged. Assistant sub-inspector Shambhaiah in the escort vehicle has suffered injuries and has been admitted to a nearby hospital. Nandagudi police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the mortuary. Pejawara seer was at the spot for at least for 30 minutes before leaving for Chikkaballapur.
