After Mehbooba Mufti made a shocking remark threatening return of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir if BJP tries to split her party, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav and Former chief minister Omar Abdullah were embroiled in an interesting Twitter spat over the same.
Soon after former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti made a shocking remark threatening a return of militancy if her former ally BJP tried to split her People's Democratice Party (PDP), an epic Twitter spar broke out between BJPs man in Kashmir Ram Madhav and former Chief Minister of the State Omar Abdullah.
Everything started off with this photo of 1987 where Farooq Abdullah, Rajiv Gandhi and Mehbooba's late father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed are seen together, which Madhav shared on Twitter. Madhav took a dig at Mehbooba, saying the other person sharing space with ‘Delhi’ and Farooq Abdullah should be known to her.
A 1987-vintage picture. ‘Delhi’ with Farooq Abdullah. D other leader in picture is easily recognisable, at least by Mehaboobaji, who accuses, wrongly, ‘Delhi’ for her own party’s internal problems.. 😀 pic.twitter.com/yDBIOEhGoW
— Ram Madhav (@rammadhavbjp)Soon, Omar pitched in, as he too shares a grudge against his political opponent in the State. Tagging Mehbooba, he reminded her of the coalition of contradictions that the PDP and BJP ran until recently.
Here , it takes your estranged friends & allies to remind you of your family history when you talk about 1987. https://t.co/ZrgedBO5X9
— Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah)But the powerful BJP general secretary was in no mood to let the conversation end at this. Ram Madhav reminded Omar Abdullah that his national Conference too was in alliance with the BJP with loads of laughing emojis. :D
Incidentally, we were also allies for a couple of years Omarji! 😀😀😀😀 https://t.co/Yc8XCOoGgp
— Ram Madhav (@rammadhavbjp)Now it was no longer about Mehbooba Mufti but a clear spat between the two tall leaders. Omar Abdullah reminded the BJP leader it was about a different zamana (age) of ‘Vajpayee Sahib’ (former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Clearly he didn’t take Madhav's dig well.
🙂 We were but Vajpayee Sahib ka zamana kuch aur he tha, us dour ka kya kehna. Those days it was ‘insaniyat, jamhuriyat aur Kashmiriyat’. https://t.co/4beGBZ6o5I
— Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah)MADHAV TWEET 3
From our side it continues to be Vajpayee principle of Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat n Kashmiriyat only. D other side talks of Salahuddins n Yasin Maliks... 😁😁😁 https://t.co/yE3Sf4DKir
— Ram Madhav (@rammadhavbjp)Reciprocating to the new attack, Omar too joined in Mehbooba bashing, suggesting that she and her party was full of duplicity.
That is their old habit when they want to scare Delhi in to propping them up. May you continue to remain committed to the vision enshrined in those three important words.
— Omar Abdullah (@OmarAbdullah)With a political vacuum in Jammu and Kashmir, such Twitter spats give a sneak peek into the political realities beneath the surface.
