Senior officers of Delhi police are unhappy with this act as it is a violation of the service (conduct) rules

The office of a senior IPS officer, located in Delhi’s posh South district, has become a new home for his pets. A shed, which was meant to keep vehicles, was given to these dogs from an expensive breed. Also, a dedicated employee was kept to look after them.

Senior officers of Delhi Police were unhappy with this act as it is a violation of the service (conduct) rules.

After the media query, the DCP was asked to remove the dogs from the office premise and the order was carried out on Tuesday late night.

“We asked the officer to remove his personal dogs from his official premise and two dogs have been removed from the premise,” Special Commissioner, Law and order (South) RP Upadhyaya told MyNation.

The two beagle dogs were kept at the shed for the last three months and were looked after by an employee inside DCP South Romil Baniya's office situated in Hauz Khas area.

Not only this, to protect the animals from heat, the shed was equipped with two coolers.

“The dogs are fed curd and rice four times a day and the employee used to take them for walks twice a day,” sources said.

“No officer is allowed to use official premises or official property for his/her personal activities,” a top Delhi police official said on the condition of anonymity.

However, the DCP didn’t respond to MyNation's queries.

According to pet websites, market cost of these two beagles would be something between Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000. Their monthly expenses are also very high.
