A woman and her daughter were left stranded on the road when their car's tyres got punctured

Noida: If the recent #MeToo stories have you feeling disillusioned, this Noida cop can be a ray of hope for all women and an inspiration for the men.

In a letter to the Traffic Police, retired Army officer Colonel VP Sharma detailed how Constable Deepak Kumar helped his daughter and granddaughter, who got stranded while returning to Greater Noida after visiting him at a hospital.

The Colonel wrote that he was hospitalised in Noida after a minor surgery when his daughter and granddaughter visited him on October 6. They left for the hospital around 8 pm but lost their way and ended up on a deserted road with two flat tyres."They were scared and stood by the side of the vehicle. A number of people passed by but no one stopped," Sharma said in his letter.

However, when the constable spotted the women on the road he got a mechanic to have the punctures repaired and even offered his own spare tyre.

Kumar, later, escorted the women till their locality in Greater Noida, ensuring their safety.

Saying that he was "totally impressed" by Kumar's "dedication to duty", the Army veteran recommended special recognition and reward for the traffic cop who went "out of the way to help two stranded ladies on a lonely Noida road".
