Chennai: Union Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman addressed media on Saturday.
While speaking on the second anniversary of Surgical Strike, she said that the army had done its job in their own military base where they were sleeping, after being in an unprovoked attack.
When there is a war, rules of engagement are always there, she said. But, they killed sleeping soldiers, she added.
How can we be ashamed of it and keep quiet about it when soldiers have taken action, she questioned.
The Union minister further added that this kind of an action would let Pakistan refrain from sending terrorists.
Action will continue at the border, whether Pakistan has learnt a lesson or not, Sitaraman said.
The Defence Minister slammed the Congress for maligning PM Modi and his government over the Rafale deal. She said Congress was responsible for destroying the country for ten years.
