At the time of his hanging, Bose was 18 years, 8 months and 8 days old, making him one of the youngest revolutionaries to have laid down his life for the nation.
Khudiram Bose was one of the youngest revolutionaries in the country to have laid down his life in the freedom struggle against the British. Born on 3 December 1889 in Midnapore district of Bengal, the Bengali revolutionary along with his partner Prafulla tried to assassinate a judge named Kingsford by throwing bombs at a carriage in which he was supposed to be travelling.
Kingsford had become unpopular for passing harsh and cruel sentences on young political workers. The judge was also noted for inflicting corporal punishments on such workers and that is why he was on target of the nationalists in Bengal.
The bombs blew up the carriage but Kingsford was not travelling in it and two British ladies were killed in this incident. Prafulla committed suicide when he was about to be arrested by the Police.
Khudiram was arrested and tried for the murder of the two ladies and sentenced to death. At the time of his hanging, he was 18 years, 8 months and 8 days old, making him one of the youngest revolutionaries to have laid down his life for the nation.
