New Delhi: Narendra Modi is not only ruling the hearts of 133.92 crores Indians, but also social media. The Indian Prime Minister has emerged as the most popular global leader on Instagram with 15.5 million followers.
According to Twiplomacy study 2018, Modi is not only world’s most followed leader but also two of his pictures — one with Virushka after their wedding and the other in Davos — were the most liked photos posted by a world leader this year.

PM Modi has beaten Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who has secured the second position, with 14 million followers.
American President Donald Trump and Pope Francis, have become third and fourth respectively with 10.9 million followers and 5.7 million followers.
Meanwhile, England’s royal family had witnessed a boost in its followers over the past 12 months. The Twiplomacy study reported that its followers have tripled after the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The study tallied the activity of the 426 Instagram accounts of heads of state and government and foreign ministers. This number is 100 more than in the 2017 study.
