New Delhi: As the 2019 general election is drawing closer, ministers of the Modi government have made it a point to highlight what they have achieved over the past four years. This exercise has been undertaken to prove that the NDA has done more for the nation than the UPA.
Earlier this week, five ministers of the Union cabinet are learnt to have made presentations on the achievements of their respective ministries and how they have achieved more in four years of the NDA than the UPA government, sources in the government told MyNation.
The presentations are expected to continue in the coming days and the achievements would then be shared with people to highlight the work done by the Modi government, the sources said.
A few months ago, the government had reportedly formed a panel comprising road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari, petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and textiles minister Smriti Irani for identifying the major achievements of the government in the past four years.
The ministries making presentations have also been giving out details of the number of jobs created and schemes that have been carried out in the past four years.
The government is also planning to highlight as its major achievement, the provision of electricity to all the 18,000 villages which were not connected till 2014 and the provision of cooking gas for all families under the Ujjwala Yojana.
The government's initiative of taking banks and banking facilities to every doorstep is also one of the major achievements which would be shared with people.
