“Three years ago, society members spoke about how he assaulted his mother, which led to a head injury. People went to his home to inquire, but she said she had dashed into the cupboard,” said Jamal Ansari, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Ansari has been working as the security guard of the building for the past 22 years, according to reports.
It is also learned that Syed is the adopted son of Hasan, who worked in a private firm.
Syed was arrested after a taxi driver alerted the cops about his suspicious actions. It is believed that he killed Dixit, who was an aspiring actress, after an argument. He then packed the dead body in a suitcase, called a cab and went to a desolate location in Malad and dumped it.
However, the police are yet to ascertain the motive.
Syed mother, who was a homemaker, had gone to her relatives when the incident happened.
A case of murder and destruction of evidence was registered against Syed.
