At the same function, yoga guru Baba Ramdev said sadhus would succeed where ministers and the rich often failed. 'The ministers and the rich must realise that saints and seers are more capable than them, that they can succeed where they often fail,' the yoga guru said.
Haridwar: It was the first time on Monday that RSS ‘Sarsanghchalak’ Mohan Bhagwat spoke on the Ram Temple issue after the Supreme Court refused to constitute a larger bench to reconsider its 1994 judgment where it had said that mosques were not integral to Islam. Bhagwat said even opposition parties could not oppose a Ram temple in Ayodhya openly as the deity was revered by the majority.
Speaking at a function at Patanjali Yogpeeth on Monday, Bhagwat said the RSS and the BJP were committed to constructing a Ram temple in Ayodhya, but “certain things take time”.
The BJP has come under criticism from some quarters within the Parivar for the delays in the construction of Ram temple, more so as the tenure of the Central government is drawing to a close and elections are just around the corner.
“Every government has its limitations and it has to perform within those constraints. However, saints and seers are beyond such limitations and they should work for the uplift of religion, country and society,” the RSS chief said.
“Even opposition parties cannot openly oppose a Ram temple in Ayodhya as they are aware the deity is revered by a majority of Indians. But certain things take time,” Bhagwat said.
“Every government has its limitations but a government doing a good job should remain in power. It is important who occupies the seat of power,” he said.
Baba Ramdev said sadhus would succeed where ministers and the rich often failed.
“The ministers and the rich must realise that saints and seers are more capable than them, that they can succeed where they often fail,” the yoga guru said.
