Kasaragod: On January 1, clashes erupted between the CPI(M) and BJP men at Chettukundu in Kasaragod where several people gathered for the ‘Women’s Wall’ movement, organised by the LDF government in the name of upholding the Renaissance value. Trouble started when a group of people threw stones at the persons who took part in the event. The CPM alleged that RSS workers were behind the attack. The party also alleged that the RSS workers had thrown ‘bombs’ at women.

According to reports, the miscreants hurled stones at the women and policemen, injuring three police personnel. Later, to get the situation under control, the police officials fired in the air and burst teargas shells to disperse the crowd. This incident occurred as the human wall initiative was coming to an end on Tuesday evening.

The RSS party has denied the allegations made by the CPI(M) party and said that they were not involved in creating trouble at the state-sponsored ‘Women’s Wall’ event.
