Lingayat leader Mate Mahadevi slams Siddaganga Mutt junior seer for decision to tonsure 8000 students

Lingayat leader Mate Mahadevi in Bagalkot, Karnataka slammed the decision of junior seer at Siddaganga Mutt to tonsure the heads of 8000 children in the Mutt following the death of the pontiff Shivakumara Swamiji. In a video released on Sunday, Mate Mahadevi said that Lingayats do not practice tonsuring of heads after the death of a seer. She said that it was superstition and a Vaidik belief and an insult to the Siddaganga seer who believed in Lingayat rituals.
