The Ambalappuzha Judicial first class magistrate court in Kerala has asked LDF minister G Sudhakaran to appear on March 29 for insulting his staff member Usha Sali during a public function.

Alappuzha:The Ambalappuzha court has ordered to register a case against LDF minister G Sudhakaran on the complaint of 'insulting womanhood'. The Ambalappuzha Judicial first class magistrate court has asked him to appear on March 29.

Former personal staff Usha Sali lodged the complaint against the minister. The woman alleged that she was insulted at a public function in 2016 by Sudhakaran. Her complaint stated that the minister insulted her family also during the inauguration of the roadwork at Thottappally Lakshmithoppu in Alappuzha, Kerala.

The woman said that she approached the court because the police did not register a case.

"What more can we expect from LDF leaders. Here, he has insulted a woman in public, PK Sasi raped a woman. I feel much more news will come out from the party soon," said Athul Krishna, an engineer from Kerala.

The CPI(M) state committee on November 26 suspended MLA PK Sasi from the party following a sexual abuse complaint lodged against him by a woman leader of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).

The DYFI woman leader had complained about sexual harassment against CPI(M) MLA (Shoranur) Sasi in early September. The complaint letter was submitted to CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury. The letter stated that Sasi tried to grab her after calling her to the committee office in Mannarkad.

Meanwhile, Malayalam actor Kollam Thulasi surrendered before the investigation officer S Chandradas at Chavara police station, Kollam, on February 5.

Kollam Thulasi had made a controversial statement on October 12 claiming that women who entered Sabarimala temple going by the Supreme Court verdict should be "ripped in half". Thulasi made this statement while speaking during an NDA rally in Kollam, Kerala.
