Kumaraswamy’s meet with sugar mill owners fails, Karnataka farmers to intensify protest

Bagalkote: Farmers of Mudhol, Bagalkote resumed their protest after Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy's meeting with sugar mill owners failed to meet their demands. Karnataka farmers are staging protests near Rayanna Circle in Mudhol. They are formulating a strategy to intensify protests. Sugar mill owners have refused to pay Rs 150 over and above the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) per tonne of sugarcane. Farmers have demanded that the sugar mills should be closed till they agree to pay the due.
