KSRTC empanelled employee attempts suicide in front of Kerala secretariat

Thiruvananthapuram:  An empanelled Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employee tried to commit suicide in front of the secretariat on Monday evening after the corporation cleared the place of all strike pandals ahead of Attukal Pongala.

The suicide attempt was made by Alappuzha native Diniya in protest against the removal of her pandal. She was on strike against the retrenchment of empanelled KSRTC employees. The woman climbed up a tree and threatened to kill herself, saying she had no other means to live as her husband had died and she had two small children.
