In a major success against Pakistan- sponsored infiltration attempts, three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Keran sector, Kupwara district on Thursday.
Official sources told GNS that soldiers of 3 JAK Rifles manning the fence at Balbir post near Datgali in Keran intercepted a group of militants at around 10:40 am today which resulted in an encounter.
Sources told MyNation that encounter broke after alert troops of 3 JAK Rifles, who were guarding the LoC at Balbir Post in Keran sector, noticed the movement of terrorists in the morning.
The jawans challenged the movement of this group of terrorists, who were trying to sneak into Indian territory after security forces launched an operation to gun them down.
The bodies of the three terrorists killed are yet to be recovered as they are lying close to the Line of Control.
The operation is still underway and security forces are sanitizing the area to ensure zero presence of foreign infiltrators.
