Thiruvananthapuram: Devaswom Board Minister Kadakampally Surendran has said to media that all facilities will be arranged in Sabarimala for women who plan to visit the temple in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict. He also stressed that there would be no special queues for woman in Sabarimala temple.
More women police officers will be deployed in Sabarimala. There will be women police officers on the 18 steps if needed. Those who reach the sannidhanam (sanctum sanctorum) for darshan, should try not to stay there for long hours after darshan,” Kadakampally said.
Toilets will be set up along the Pampa-Sannidhanam pathway. Women travelling through buses plying Nilakkal-Pampa route, will be given 25% concession in ticket fare. The government decided to implement the Supreme Court’s order almost immediately.
The minister added that usually women travel with their husband or family to such temples. Often, they don’t go alone to such pilgrim centres.

Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president, A Padmakumar, on Sunday, said the real devotees who respect the traditions and rituals of Sabarimala and know the circumstances there are not likely to visit the shrine.
