Pathanamthitta collector PB Nooh has issued prohibitory orders at places like Pampa, Elavunkal and Sannidhanam till November 6.
Pathanamthitta: District collector PB Nooh has declared Section 144 at Pampa, Elavunkal and Sannidhanam from Saturday midnight till November 6. The decision has been taken after considering the fact that the temple is opening the doors for Chithira Attathirunal (auspicious days according to the Malayalam calendar) where special pujas will be conducted. The police expect a clash between those who oppose the Supreme Court verdict and those who are supporting women’s entry. The decision was taken on account of this.
Several police officers including south zone ADGP Anil Kanth will be present at Sannidhanam, Pampa and Nilakkal. Pathanamthitta SP T Narayanan informed that the police is completely prepared for providing security. The media has also been restricted. Only on November 5, media will be allowed access.

1500 police personnel, including women cops, are deployed as part of security measures in Sabarimala for ‘Chittira Attam’ (an auspicious day according to Malayalam calendar - November 5). Inspector general MR Ajith Kumar will be the new in-charge of security at Pampa, Kerala.
3,742 people had been arrested in connection with the violent protests and around 350 of the suspects are still absconding. The police chief assured that Kerala Police have taken precautions to avoid any kind of violence and protests. 1500 police personnel, including women cops, are deployed for security in Sabarimala for ‘Chittira Attam’.
