Activist Bindu's parents have issued a public apology to Lord Ayyappa and Sabarimala devotees for their daughter’s 'mistake' of entering Sabarimala temple
Kozhikode: Bindu, a Dalit activist, who was proceeding to Pamba towards Sabarimala temple, was given police protection on Monday. When the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in which she was taken with police protection to temple was about to reach Pamba, a group of devotees blocked the road and forced her to go back. After this incident, she was then escorted in a police jeep to a safer place.
Now, Bindu's parents have apologised to Lord Ayyappa and Sabarimala devotees for their daughter’s "mistake of entering Sabarimala temple".

Her parents said that they are very much hurt over the inconvenience caused to devotees by their daughter. To atone for their daughter’s mistake, Bindu's mother Thankamma will trek to Sabarimala and visit Lord Ayyappa.
Thankamma said her wish is to visit Sabarimala temple on November 5 when the temple opens for a day, well ahead of Mandalam season. But Bindu’s father Vasu cannot visit Sabarimala due to health issues and he will offer prayers at home.
When Bindu returned from Sabarimala to her rented house, the house owner asked her to vacate the place as some protestors threatened to attack the house. She later took refuge in her friend’s house.
