Kerala rains: Sluice gates of Idukki dam opened for second time in 26 years (Video)

Shutters of the Idukki Dam were opened for the second time in the last 26 years, following predictions of heavy rains in and around this Kerala district. First time the sluice gates were opened on August 9, following deluge in Kerala. During a high-level meeting, it was decided to release 50 cubic metres per second, said Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) dam safety wing.
