With the new facility, the devotees can book their time slots for darshan on the website which allows bookings for pilgrims to travel from Nilakkal to Pamba, have darshan in Sannidhanam and then return to Nilakkal.
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to provide an improved facility for the pilgrims for better crowd management at Sabarimala temple during the Mandala-Makaravilakku (pilgrimage) season. Earlier, there was a facility to book Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) tickets, which helped pilgrims to reach Pamba. As private vehicles will not be allowed beyond Nilakkal, state-run KSRTC buses will operate through ring-route services between Nilakkal and Pamba.
Now with the new facility, the devotees can book their time slots for darshan on www.sabarimalaq.com website. The website allows bookings for pilgrims to travel from Nilakkal to Pamba, have darshan in Sannidhanam and then return to Nilakkal.
The website will show the possible time slots for darshan in Sabarimala to the devotees. According to the timing, devotees can also book buses from Nilakkal to Pamba in the KSRTC. Each ticket will be valid for 48 hours and it means that all devotees should finish the darshan and return to Nilakkal within 48 hours.
Earlier, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had said that devotees would not be allowed to stay at Sannidhanam after the shrine opens and the protesters would not be allowed to camp at Sabarimala. Police have announced that they would not let anyone stay in Sabarimala for more than 24 hours.
