Kerala nun rape: Bishop Franco Mulakkal to be questioned at Thripunithura

Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who is the accused in the nun rape case, will be questioned at Thripunithura SP Office, Kerala. Five cameras have been installed in different corners in the room where the interrogation will take place.

Kochi: Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who is the accused in the nun rape case, will be questioned at Thripunithura SP Office. Jalandhar diocese Bishop Franco Mulakkal has been accused of rape and unnatural sex with Kerala nun multiple times between 2014 and 2016. 

The exercise of interrogation was moved to Kochi for security reasons. The whole interrogation will be recorded in videos. Five cameras have been installed in different corners in the room where the interrogation will take place.

The instruction given to the bishop is to be present before Vaikom deputy superintendent of police K Subhash at 9:30 am on Wednesday. The interrogation will start at 11 am. Reports suggest that Mulakkal reached Kottayam in the night of Tuesday.

The police have prepared about a hundred questions and some sub-questions. Striking differences in his answers can lead to his arrest.

In the beginning, Vaikom DySP will ask questions in the presence of district police chief. In the second phase, the district police chief and IG will question him. The questioning may extend to more than one day.
