The Kerala high court observed that keeping M-Panel employees would be a challenge for those who have passed the written test to become KSRTC employees. The court said that the temporary employees should be terminated before Monday evening.
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala high court has issued a final warning to Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to terminate all its M-Panel (temporary) employees before Monday evening (December 17). The court also rapped KSRTC Managing Director Tomin J Thachankary.
The court warned that strict action would be taken against him if he fails to terminate the 3,872 M-Panel employees in KSRTC. The court also stated that the court has the power even to change the MD.

The court, on Friday, observed that keeping M-Panel employees would be a challenge for those who have passed the written test to become KSRTC employees. The court said that the temporary employees should be terminated before Monday evening. The court has also ordered to submit an affidavit indicating about the termination of temporary employees.
Talking to reporters, Thachankary had stated that it is difficult to obey the court order related to the termination of the M- Panel employees.
Kerala transport minister AK Saseendran said terminating M-Panel employees would worsen the condition of KSRTC. This step can stop services of KSRTC buses in many places of the state, he added.

Meanwhile, some of the temporary employees of KSRTC have resigned on Monday. The order for their removal was already prepared. The list of employees to be terminated has been handed over to each unit chief. According to reports, ‘advice letters’ will be sent to 4,051 new employees.
It was reported that the high court would consider the case filed by the M-Panel employees on Monday. But as per the latest reports, it is said that high court denied discussing the case filed by the employees. It is reported that the government is not interested in the removal of temporary employees.
As per sources, the M-Panel employees have decided to file an appeal when the Supreme Court reopens on January 2.
