Kochi: The fish-selling Kerala college student, Hanan, who became popular after her story went viral on social media, is hospitalised after she was injured in an accident on Monday.
Hanan sells fish to support her family. And her story appeared in the local media and later it was shared widely on social media.
She was subjected to trolls as many claimed her story as fake. However, she got the backing of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He called her “Kerala’s daughter” after she met him in his office.

Hanan, who was sitting in the front seat of the car, injured her legs and her spinal cord. The car, in trying to avoid a man, who was crossing the road, hit an electric pole.
Recently, Hanan donated Rs 1.5 lakh to Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood relief. Hanan said this was the amount she had received through donations from people after her story went viral.
She had said that she will offer all her donations with love to those who have lost everything in Kerala floods.
