Marayoor: After monitoring a rogue elephant named Chinnathambi for hours in the sugarcane fields of Kannadiputhur, Kerala forest department officials captured the creature. It took forest department officials almost nine hours to catch the rogue elephant.
The Madras high court on February 13 permitted forest department officials to capture and relocate the crop-raiding wild elephant Chinnathambi. The forest personnel took all precautions to ensure that Chinnathambi was not harmed in the process. The elephant was then transported to Topslip elephant camp in Tamil Nadu.
