Kerala Floods: Despite the sad state, people decided to lift their spirits up by celebrating Bakrid with their Muslim friends and temples were no exception.

The disastrous flood in Kerala has claimed several lives, destroyed houses, but has not dampened the spirit of humanity. Amidst homelessness, the temples, mosques and churches have become immediate places of shelter.

In one such situation, a temple in Thrissur is said to have made space for the Muslims to offer prayers during Bakrid, which was celebrated yesterday. This temple situated at Irvathur had given shelter to hundreds of homeless people affected by massive floods.

Despite the sad state, people decided to lift their spirits up by celebrating Bakrid with their Muslim friends and temples were no exception.

Likewise, in Malappuram district in Kerala,  a mosque provided shelter to Hindus. At least 17 Hindu families are residing here and the mosque authorities have given them all the basic facilities needed.

It can also be noticed that two groups of Muslim youths had recently cleaned two temples that were left covered in mud and slush in Kerala.
