Kerala Floods: Nation thanks 2826 fishermen who participated in rescue operations (Video)

In the rescue operations from August 15 to 20, 2826 fishermen with 699 boats rescued 65,000 people from flood-ravaged Kerala, said minister for fisheries J Mercykutty Amma. Rs 43 lakh was spent for their food, fuel, life jacket and outboard motor. This amount will be paid from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. Money will also be given to repair their boats that were damaged during the rescue operations.
