BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai filed a complaint with the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions that superintendent of police Yatheesh Chandra misbehaved with central leader Pon Radhakrishnan during the visit to Sabarimala.

New Delhi: BJP has filed a complaint with the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions that superintendent of police (SP) Yatheesh Chandra misbehaved with central leader Pon Radhakrishnan. The complaint was filed by BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai.

A dispute had occurred between Yatheesh Chandra and Pon Radhakrishnan on Wednesday. Yatheesh had informed the minister that there are no facilities to park the car at Nilakkal when the minister asked him why the vehicles were not allowed to enter Pamba.

Yatheesh had also asked whether the union minister of state would take the responsibility if any mishap occurs at Pamba. BJP general secretary AN Radhakrishnan too ran into an argument with Yatheesh Chandra.

Earlier, Kerala high court had questioned the state government as to why top police officers, accused in criminal cases, have been deployed in Sabarimala. Referring to inspector general (IG) Vijay Sakhare and  superintendent of police (SP) Yatheesh Chandra, the court observed, “What was the point of deploying police officers, who do not know how to read and write Malayalam.”

The court was considering a batch of petitions, demanding to revoke Section 144 in Sabarimala. The court also asked the government to submit the details of the two police officers deployed in Sabarimala.

BJP state general secretary AN Radhakrishnan said that SP Yathish Chandra is a "number one criminal". He also told media that this will become clear if the SP’s background on former issues are examined.

He also criticised IG Vijay Sakhare, who is in-charge of Sannidhanam, alleging that the cop is a complete criminal and he was deployed in Sabarimala with special interest by the chief minister.
