From other parties, frontline leaders will join the BJP. The party is awaiting the entry of that strong leader, said Kerala BJP president Sreedharan Pillai.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State BJP president PS Sreedharan Pillai has once again re-emphasised his statement that a strongman from Kerala politics would migrate to the BJP. This has again opened the lid of speculations.

“From other parties, frontline leaders will join the BJP. The party is awaiting the entry of that strong leader. It is not easy to reveal more details in this regard now,“ he said at a press conference in Kannur press club on Tuesday.

The BJP leaders had claimed that after the Chengannur election, a prominent politician would join the BJP. People alleged that Congress leader Sudhakaran is planning to call it quits to join the other party. To this, Sudhakaran answered that he has lived as Congress and will die as Congress.

People also wondered if Mollywood superstar Mohanlal’s visit to Modi was a sign of him joining the BJP. The mutual message on Twitter they exchanged on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s birthday added fuel to the fiery suspicion that Mohanlal might join the BJP.

The actor allayed the rumours stating that he met the Prime Minister to reportedly discuss about Viswasanthi Foundation, an organisation founded by the actor. It is named after Mohanlal’s parents, Viswanathan Nair and Santhakumari.

Mohanlal informed Modi about starting a cancer centre under Viswasanthi foundation in Wayanad district of Kerala. Mohanlal said that Modi promised his support for this. But no official confirmation was available on this from both sides.

Meanwhile, it is also said that BJP has been trying to attract other party workers, who are already fed up with their party’s activities.
