Karunanidhi death: Kollywood hero Vijay stops shooting of Sarkar in US

Tamil actor Vijay stopped the shooting of his film Sarkar in the US as a mark of respect for the DMK supremo Karunanidhi

Vijay was in Las Vegas, USA for his upcoming movie Sarkar's final schedule with actress Keerthy Suresh. But with DMK chief Kalaingar Karunanidhi passing away last evening in Chennai, the makers of the film have decided to stop the shooting as a mark of respect for the leader.

According to reports, Vijay took a flight to Chennai to pay his last respects for the DMK supremo. The actor's wife Sangeetha visited Rajaji Hall, where thousands gathered to pay their tribute for Karunanidhi.

Karunanidhi passed away on 7 August evening after multiple organ failure due to prolonged age-related illness at the age of 94. Many politicians and celebrities from across the country including PM Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi immediately flew down to Chennai to attend the funeral.

Some celebs took to social media to pay their last respects for former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
