Gadag: A three-day old child has died due to negligence of the Gadag government hospital staff and doctors in Karnataka. Parvathy Beerappa was admitted to the taluk government hospital at Lakshmeshwar in Gadag for her first delivery. Even though there was no doctor, the hospital staff including nurses have performed the delivery, but found the child to be underweight and suffering from infection-related issues. They promised the family that the child specialist would arrive any time and kept the child and mother in the hospital for three days. But when the situation got complicated, they asked the family to get the child treated from another hospital. They did not even provide an ambulance and all this resulted in the death of the child. A video of a nurse, who took a bribe and confessed to the crime is available with MyNation. The family has demanded action against the hospital and its staff.
