Before Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy could start his official tour in Delhi, he visited Rahul Gandhi in the morning recently and asked RaGa to tell his State leaders not to trouble the coalition.
Not just Karnataka Congress leaders, according to sources, looks like even Congress president Rahul Gandhi is at the mercy of chief minister HD Kumaraswamy.
In a recent meeting, Kumaraswamy reportedly said that it is Congress that came knocking his doors. Kumaraswamy was in Delhi recently to meet the central leaders to apprise them about the situation in flood-battered Kodagu in Karnataka.
Before he could start his official tour in Delhi, HDK visited Rahul Gandhi in the morning recently and asked RaGa to tell his State leaders not to trouble the coalition.
Sources in Delhi say that Kumaraswamy had an upper hand against Rahul Gandhi during the meeting and he demanded that Congress should offer the mayor’s post to JDS as part of the civic polls that recently concluded in Karnataka. "We did not come to your doorstep. Instead your leaders knocked my door. We had other options too. In case your leaders from Karnataka Congress trouble, we will not be responsible if there’s a setback to this coalition," sources said quoting Kumaraswamy.
In an attempt to keep the BJP away, Congress surrendered to the JDS in Karnataka, and JDS will finish Congress, said BJP leader Prahlad Joshi.
