Karnataka: Driver-less vehicle mows down woman, child in Puttur

Puttur: A woman and her child came under the wheels of a speeding vehicle with no driver inside, in a market in Karnataka's Puttur District. Both survived the accident. The incident that took place on February 10 was caught on CCTV camera in the market.

A youth allegedly started the vehicle and left it in gear when he alighted. The vehicle gained momentum and crashed into two cars and four two-wheelers. The vehicle then knocked down a woman and child from her two-wheeler and ran over her. The mother and her child escaped miraculously with just a few injuries.

The crowd that gathered there, beat up the alleged culprit before handing him over to the police. Puttur Traffic police have registered a case and are looking into the matter.
