Karnataka civic polls: HD Kumaraswamy's popularity and Congress-JD(S) credibility at stake

At least 105 urban local bodies in Karnataka will go to polls today. The polls started at 7 am and include three major cities Mysuru, Tumakuru and Shivamogga. Three places in Kodagu that were supposed to go to polls today stand postponed. The parties are contesting the polls independently and therefore will have a major impact on the Congress-JD(S) coalition government. It is stated that the party that wins the polls will gain momentum ahead of the 2019 polls. This will also determine how popular Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is.
