Kannada Actor Ramesh Aravind says existence of fan base no reason to enter politics

Sandalwood actor Ramesh Aravind spoke exclusively to MyNation at an event launch about his movie ‘Butterfly,’ the pay disparity in the industry and politics.

Aravind remarked that as an actor having a fan-base is not reason enough to enter politics. Aravind said he has no plans of setting foot in politics. "One cannot play football with the rules of cricket. I may have a fan following but that should not be a reason for entering politics. One should have the passion for it, remarked Aravind"

Nevertheless, speaking about other’s entry into politics, Aravind said, "Kamal has always been leaning towards politics, given his background. I am with him in spirit."

The actor went on to talk about his latest directorial stint; ‘Butterfly’ Aravind said that it was more exciting than challenging. He spoke about the possible comparisons between Kangana Ranaut and Parul Yadav or Kajal Aggarwal that the audience may make.

"But I remember telling Parul and Kajal not to fill in Kangana's shoes, instead create something of their own," Aravind said. He also said that he doesn’t consider  'Butterfly' as a remake of ‘Queen’, instead, he called it a second original. "Remakes, usually are not well received in the industry, but some films deserve to be told to a larger audience," stated Ramesh Aravind.
