Kamal Haasan, in a strongly-worded Tweet, said that a government that cannot take criticisms will eventually be ruined. The actor spoke in support of Tamil film Sarkar that is embroiled in controversy now.
Chennai: While Tamil film Sarkar, featuring Vijay, has courted controversy with AIADMK expressing its displeasure, actor-politician Kamal Haasan has come in support of the film.
AIADMK leaders have claimed that the film portrays their party in poor light. They have begun protesting and even vandalising theatres across Tamil Nadu.
Kamal Haasan Tweeted stating, "The way this government has been pressuring the film's team, despite having obtained the censor certificate, is not new. A government that cannot take criticisms will eventually be ruined. These people, who are after power, will fall one day. Sincere people with integrity will win."

Several leaders, including fisheries minister D Jayakumar, have spoken against the film and demanded that those "controversial scenes must be removed". Law minister CV Shanmugham said that the party leaders would discuss and decide if they need to file a case against Sarkar's team.
