HYDERABAD: Telangana chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao has substantiated the speculation of a possible dissolution of the state assembly further paving way for early polls. According to reports, a cabinet meeting might take place at 1.30pm after which KCR is highly likely to meet the governor of the state, EL Narasimhan to make it official.
Sources in the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Wednesday claimed the government has more-or-less made up its mind on the dissolution of the assembly, whose term ends next year.
"Dissolution is 'pucca'. Yes, that's what's happening... the C Yes, that's what's happening... the Cabinet will recommend dissolution or convening of the House to deliberate on the matter," a senior TRS leader told PTI.
Assembly elections in Telangana are originally scheduled to be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls next year, but the Chief Minister sees an advantage for TRS in delinking the two polls.
In recent weeks, the state government had announced a slew of measures for the benefit of various sections of the society.
