Jinnah portrait to stay in AMU, asserts student union president

Muhammad Ali Jinnah's portrait at Aligarh Muslim University's (AMU) students union hall, which has become a bone of contention, will not be removed, said union president Mashkoor Ahmad Usmani.

Talking to MyNation, and responding to the written answer given in Parliament by Union Minister of State for HRD Satyapal Singh, Usmani said BJP was trying to use Jinnah's portrait to foment sentiments and win the 2019 elections. "Jinnah's portrait is part of history. It has been there for the past 80 years. Why should it be removed?" he asked.
