Jammu: In an unique initiative to promote tourism in the state, the Tourism Jammu directorate flagged off a bike rally in Jammu on Monday.
"Travellers and bikers from north India participated in the rally. Around 80 bikers, both boys and girls, participated in bike rally," Tourism Jammu director OP Bhagat said.
"The rally will cover eight tourist destinations including Surinsar, Mansar, Basohli, Sarthal, Bhadarwah, Kistwar, Sinthan Top and culminate at Patnitop covering 750 Km in four days," he added.
Deputy director, tourism (publicity) Sushil Kumar Attri told MyNation that the rally will leave for Basohli via Surinsar and Mansar and would leave for Bhaderwah via Sarthal, and on the third day it would leave for Sinthan Top via Kishtwar and culminate at Patnitop.
Attri informed that the motive for organising the bike rally was to promote tourism in the state and for bringing to light some of the unexplored places of the Jammu division. He further informed that this was second bike rally organised by the department of tourism and it will hold similar rallies in future for the development of tourism in the state.
Authorities have urged the bikers to write blogs and articles after visiting these places so that people can know about the beauty of these places and the adventures that can be undertaken here.
