Kashmir: Security forces bust 3 militant bases; several terrorists, accomplices arrested

Kashmir: Taking major action in collaboration with central security agencies, Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday, raided three terrorist bases in the Valley. In the aftermath of the intelligence operation, the people involved in raising arms for terrorists and monitoring the security agencies have been arrested.

A top official of the Awantipora police said that many terrorists were also arrested in the raid. A joint team of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir police arrested five supporters of the terrorists - Rizwan Ahmad, Pandit Shahid, Manjur Zahid Ahmed, Mohammed Hussain and Manjor Ahmad.

According to sources, so far in the inquiry, it has been revealed that Rizwan used to push local youths into terrorism. These people were also involved in the grenade attack on the national highway and used to send news of every movement of the security agencies to the terrorists.

On the other hand, while making a big breakthrough, the police have destroyed another hideout of the terrorists. Two people have been arrested in this regard. They have been identified as Shahbah Ahmad Wani and Tausif Ahmad Bhatt. According to the police, these two terrorists used to collect arms and were active in south Kashmir.

In another raid by security agencies, two other helpers of terrorists have come under arrest. While arresting Ghaur Ahmad Dar and Shaukat Ahmed, the police have demolished three hideouts of terrorists in Tahah, Pulwama Khalan and Khiram. Police sources said that the arrest of these people could bring many more terrorist links. There can be many major arrests in the Valley.
